I love making cakes that are a little bit different, so as you can imagine I was thrilled to be asked to make a TMNT cake for a baptism. This was a super fun cake to make and I was very happy with how it turned out.
Well it has been quite a while since I last blogged about my cakes. As some of you will already know I had some time away from cakes and baking, about 18 months or so ( maybe nearer 2 years). But guess what, I missed it like crazy and now I’m back…yay!
So I started making cakes again a few months ago and over the next couple of days I will be posting all about them until I’m all caught up.
This is a cake that I made for my friends son. He loves Kinder chocolate.
The cake was a chocolate cake filled with a chocolate buttercream, surrounded with Kinder chocolate bars and Kinder hippos and topped with Maltesers.
This cake was a 3 tier sponge cake, decorated with dark purple hearts and white icing roses.
Here is a closer look at the roses and hearts detail.
This is the 2nd Monster Book of monsters cakes i have made and let me tell you they are great fun to make.
I also made mini cakes to go with this Monster Book consisting of potion bottles, a spell book, a cauldron and a bag of Bertie Bott beans.
This cake was so much fun to make. I loved every minute of it.
The tiers on this cake consisted of 3 different flavours, vanilla with strawberry jam and vanilla buttercream filling, chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and a lemon cake with lemon buttercream and lemon curd filling.
The top Joker tier of the cake was then finished off with an icing Joker style gun.
This is a christening cake that i made a while ago in pink and white.
The top pink tier of the cake was decorated to resemble a patchwork baby blanket design. The bottom tier had white icing baby items all around the bottom of the cake. Lastly no Christening cake is complete without a cute little icing baby laying right on the top.
Firstly i would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy New Year.
This is just a quick post to let you all know that i have now set up a Facebook page for Sweet Sassy Cakes. So if you like following my cake adventures please feel free to stop by, say hi and like my Facebook page.
